This was the Poem read at Ellies' funeral service The Untitled Poem by Siegfried Sassoon Though you have left me, I'm not yet alone: For what you were befriends the fire lit room: And what you said remains and is my own To make living gladness of my gloom The firelight leaps and shows your empty chair And all our harmonies of speech are stilled: But you are with me in the voiceless air My hands are empty, but my heart is filled.

Thank you to everyone that attended Ellie's funeral yesterday 19th July, celebrating her life at St Michael's & All Angels Church, Thurmaston followed by committal at Loughborough Crematorium. 50 friends and family joined us at the Cedars Hotel afterwards to remember Ellie and to support Terry at this difficult time having been with Ellie for 66 years. Ellie will be missed by all that knew her especially members of the church, Granby bowling club and the Thurmaston Monday Kurling group. Thank you to Rick and his team from Gambles Funeral Directors , Syston for their wonderful and personal service. Not forgetting the care,support and dedication of all the staff at LOROS given to not only Ellie in her last 17 days of life, but also to her husband Terry and their family. At such a sad time, we could not have had a better place caring for us all at such a sad time. Mum you will be missed but never forgotten X Jacquie
